GERARD Butler is a drug dealer turned holy man in his new movie, Machine Gun Preacher.He plays Hell’s Angel Sam Childers who found God and devoted his life to rescuing child soldiers in the Sudan.And, in our exclusive clip, he gets a rocket from his missus, played by Source Code’s Michelle Monaghan, when he looks close to giving up his quest.The movie is based on the life of Sam, a gang member and biker who turned his life around after years of drug addiction and crime.Together with wife Lynn, he set up the charity Angels of East Africa and founded the Children’s Village in war-torn Southern Sudan, where thousands of children are abducted and forced to become child soldiers or sex slaves.The devout couple risk their lives to rescue the youngsters and keep them safe.

The village is now home to 300 children and is staffed by people orphaned or widowed by the brutal fighting in the region.And the charity has also set up a similar home in Uganda.Machine Gun Preacher is directed Marc Foster, who was behind the camera for the Daniel Craig Bond movie Quantum Of Solace.It is released on Wednesday, November 2.
